Stone Farm Graduate SHE FEELS PRETTY Sets Churchill Downs Course Record

Lael Stables’ SHE FEELS PRETTY set a course record winning the  $378,000 Modesty Stakes (G3T) on the Kentucky Oaks (G1) undercard on May 2. The daughter of Karakontie was purchased by owners Roy and Gretchen Jackson for $240,000 from Stone Farm’s 2022 Keeneland September Sale consignment. Out of the More Than Ready mare Summer Sweet, the 3-year-old filly was bred by Virginia Kraft Payson’s Payson Stud and was foaled and raised at Stone Farm.

Sent off the odds-on favorite, SHE FEELS PRETTY raced behind the leaders through the early going, made her move leaving the backstretch, then took the lead at the quarter pole and won by 2 1/4 lengths. The 1 1/8 miles in 1:45.51 was covered in a record 1:45.52. The victory was her first race of the year and her third consecutive win. She had previously won the American Oaks (G1T) in December at Santa Anita and the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup Stakes (G1T) at Keeneland last October. She now has six wins and three placings for earnings in excess of $1.3 million from starts.
