Stone Farm: For half of a century.

If you take care of the land,
the land will take care of you.

We’re trying to raise you a good horse.

We sell only what we raise.

McIlroy, a 3-year-old colt by Hard Spun, was named after world class golfer Rory McIlroy who completed a career Grand Slam when he won the Masters at Augusta National on April 13. While his equine counterpart is just getting started for owners CHC Inc and WinStar Farm, the colt was impressive in a 2 1/2-length maiden win at Turfway Park on March 22.
Bred by Stone Farm and Joseph W. Sutton, McIlroy was also raised at the farm and sold by Stone as a yearling at the Keeneland September sale. Trained by Rodolplhe Brisset, the colt is out of the stakes-winning Lemon Drop Kid mare Kitty Wine.
