Stone Farm: For half of a century.
If you take care of the land,
the land will take care of you.
We’re trying to raise you a good horse.
We sell only what we raise.
Opening day at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale proved to be a good day for the Stone Farm team. Homebreds went through the ring, one after another, and generated some excitement. Hip 97, a colt by Quality Road, brought $620,000, and he was followed immediately by Hip 98, a full sister to a Champion Air Force Blue, who brought a final bid of $1.05 million.
Hip 97 was purchased by Donato Lanni on behalf of SF/Starlight/Madaket and Hip 98, a daughter of War Front out of the Maria’s Mon mare Chatham, was purchased by Mike Ryan.
