Bred by George Strawbridge Jr. and raised at Stone Farm, Bricks and Mortar was brought for $200,000 as a yearling and was purchased by Oak Bluff Partners. He was a graded stakes winner in 2017, had an abbreviated campaign in 2018, and became a star in 2019 going undefeated in six starts. He won the Pegasus Work Cup Turf Invitational S.-G1 in January and ended the season with a victory in the Longines Breeders’ Cup Turf S.-G1 in November. In between, he won the Arlington Million-G1, the Old Forester Turf Classic S.-G1 and Manhattan S.- G1. He’s amassed earnings of $6.7 million, and earned the Eclipse Award as the Horse of the Year and Champion Turf Male.
