Stone Farm: For half of a century.

If you take care of the land,
the land will take care of you.

We’re trying to raise you a good horse.

We sell only what we raise.

PROTON, a 2-year-old trained by Graham Motion, broke his maiden by three lengths going 5 1/5 furlongs at Colonial Downs on August 20th. Off that performance, Motion decided to step the gelding up to stakes company and entered him in the $125,000 Laurel Futurity. A bit unruly going to the gate and rank just after the start, PROTON gathered himself stalking the pace, then going three wide coming out of the turn, he drew clear in the stretch to win by a length at the wire.
Bred by Stone Farm and Lynn Hancock, PROTON is by Australian sire Astern and is out of the Elusive Quality mare Charged. He was raised at Stone Farm and offered at the 2024 Keeneland September yearling sale. Purchased for $20,000 by a group that included Virginians Debbie Easter and Clyde “Linny” Miles and his son Randy, and partnering with Stone Farm, PROTON now has two wins in two starts and $127,00- in earnings.
