Stone Farm raised and sold SHE FEELS PRETTY finished a strong third in the $1 Million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf -G1 on day one of the Breeders’ Cup World Championship at Santa Anita. Racing for Lael Stables, the 2-year-old daughter of of Karakontie finished behind HARD TO JUSTIFY and PORTA FORTUNA by a half-length and head. The race was the third career start for SHE FEELS PRETTY.
“She only lost by a half-length and was wide the whole race,” said trainer Cherie DeVaux. “She ran really well. She had to face some adversity for the first time and she really tried to run the other horse down but it was too much, too late.”
SHE FEELS PRETTY broke her maiden in her first start on July 16, winning a 5 1/2-furlong race on the turf by a neck and followed that with a win in the Johnnie Walker Natalma Stakes-G1 at Woodbine.
Raised and sold by Stone Farm, SHE FEELS PRETTY was bred in Kentucky by Payson Stud. One of two winners out of the More Than Ready mare Summer Sweet, she was purchased from Stone Farm by her owners for $240,000 at last year’s Keeneland September Yearling Sale.
