Stone Farm: For half of a century.
If you take care of the land,
the land will take care of you.
We’re trying to raise you a good horse.
We sell only what we raise.
Robert and Lawana Low’s Spice Is Nice posted her first Graded stakes win in the 1 1/8-mile Allaire DuPont Distaff Match Series S.-G3 on Preakness weekend at Pimlico. Foaled, raised, and sold by Stone Farm for breeder Bobby Flay, Spice Is Nice battled Dreamalildreamofu for the lead through the early fractions. By midstretch, the two horses were 5 1/2 lengths in front of the rest of the field. As they neared the wire, Spice Is Nice pulled clear to win by 1 1/2 lengths. Trained by Todd Pletcher, the 4-year-old filly has four wins from seven starts.
A daughter of Curlin, Spice Is Nice is the first foal out of the multiple Graded stakes winner Dame Dorothy. She was purchased by her owners for $1,050,000 from Stone Farm’s yearling consignment at the 2018 Keeneland September sale.
