After finishing second by a neck in an allowance race at Keeneland in her 4-year-old debut, multiple Graded stakes winner BUBBLE ROCK came back to win the six-=furlong listed License Stakes at Belmont on May 7. She came from off the pace, rallied five-wide going into the stretch, and prevailed over a fast closing Poppy Flower by a half-length at the wire. On June 9, that rival turned the tables on Bubble Rock in Belmont’s $200,000 Intercontinental Stakes G3. This time, Bubble Rock took the lead from start and battled gamely before getting nailed at the wire by a nose.
Trained by Brad Cox, Bubble Rock was foaled and raised at Stone Farm for owner/breeder John Ed Anthony’s Shortleaf Stable. She has won or placed in seven blacktype races and and earned more than $650,000. She has four stakes wins to her credit, including the Mrs. Revere Stakes G2 as a 3-year-old and the Matron Stakes G3 as a 2-year-old.
