Homebred Sister to AIR FORCE BLUE Sets Track Record

AMERICAN HEROINE, a full sister to Champion AIR FORCE BLUE, broke her maiden in a 1 mile and 70 yard maiden race at Gulfstream and in the process set a track for the distance.  The 3-year-old filly, trained by Christophe Clement, prompted the pace early, took the lead at the top of the stretch, then held on for the win.

A daughter of War Front out of the Maria’s Mon mare Chatham, AMERICAN HEROINE was bred and raised Stone Farm.  Consigned by Stone Farm to the 2020 Keeneland September yarlings, she was purchased by agent Mike Ryan at the Keeneland September Sale for $1,050,000.  She races for her breeder in partnership and George Strawbridge’s Augustin Stable.

AMERICAN HEROINE made her career debut at Gulfstream on Jan. 2 on the turf.  Carried five wide into the the stretch, she finished third within a length of the winner. Off that effort, she was the 8-5 favorite for her maiden win.
