Michael Lund Petersen’s RABEEBA came on at the end to win the Torrey Pines S.-G3  at Del Mar on Aug. 30. Sent away the even-money favorite, the 3-year-old filly raced just off the pace. She went three wide for running room as they approached the turn. In the final furlong of the one-mile race, RABEEBA hit her stride and drew clear in the final sixteenth to wins by 2 1/4 lengths.

Bred, foaled and raised at Stone Farm, RABEEBA is now undefeated in three starts.  She broke her maiden in a wire-to-wire fashion going 61/2-furlongs at Los Alamitos in June, then came back in July to win a mile-long allowance race at Del Mar by 2 3/4 lengths.  Trained by Bob Baffert, RABEEBA was making her stakes and Graded stakes debut in the Torey Pines.

Stone Farm consigned the filly to the 2023 Keeneland September yearling sale, there she was purchased for $750,000 for owner Peterson.  RABEEBA is a half-sister to Group 1 winner and Highweight Air Force Blue.  Out of top sire Curlin, she is out of the Maria’s Mon mare Chatham, who was purchased by Arthur Hancock for $190,000 at the 2009 Keeneland November sale.
