QUIETSIDE stamped her ticket to the Kentucky Oaks with a determined win in the $750,000 Fantasy STakes-G2 at Oaklawn Park on March 29. The 3-year-old daughter of Malibu Moon defeated previously unbeaten Simply Joking by three-quarters of a length after a prolonged stretch duel. Winner of the Honeybee S.-G3 last time out, QUIETSIDE was already a probable starter for the Oaks, but she cemented her status by earning 100 additional points in the Road to the Kentucky Oaks series.
Racing for John Ed Anthony’s Shortleaf Stable, QUIETSIDE delivered owner/breeder Anthony a record-setting 40th stakes win at the Arkansas track. Anthony was previously tied with John Franks, each having 39 stakes wins to their credit.
QUIETSIDE was foaled and raised at Stone Farm and is out of the Speightstown mare Benner Island. Her victory in the Fantasy was her third win from seven starts. To date she has earnings of $957,200.
