Keeneland November: Lacadena Sells for $1.3 Million

Lacadena, the dam of recent graded stakes winner America, sold for $1.3 million to the Heider Family Stable, becoming the second broodmare to fetch a seven-figure price tag in the opening hours of the Keeneland November breeding stock sale’s second session.

The Fasilyev mare, a stakes-placed winner during her own career, was offered in foal to Bernardini. She was consigned by Stone Farm, as agent.

America, multiple Grade 1-placed, broke through with her first graded stakes victory in last Friday’s Grade 3 Turnback the Alarm Handicap at Aqueduct to bolster her dam’s value. In all, she has won or placed in five stakes.

Lacadena’s second dam is Kentucky Oaks winner Blush With Pride, the dam of three graded/group stakes performers, led by blue hen Better Than Honour. It is the family of European champion Peeping Fawn and Group 1 winner Thewayyouare.
