"Exacta" for 1st Crop Sire ROADSTER in Gulfstream MSW

FORD ROADSTER and STRIKE, 2-year-olds representing 1st crop sire ROADSTER, finished one-two in a maiden race at Gulfstream on April 19.  The race was the racing debut for both colts and they battled with each other from the onset.  Daniel Alonso’s FORD ROADSTER prevailed by a half-lenth at the wire over favorite STRIKE, who races for Arindel.  The colts’ sire, ROADSTER, was bred and raced by Stone Farm.

A son Quality Road, ROADSTER was purchased by Speedway Stables for $525,000 from the Stone Farm 2017 yearling consignment. In addition to his impressive win in the 2019 Santa Anita Derby, ROADSTER placed in three other graded stakes and amassed earnings of $901,500. He retired to Ocala Stud for stud duty, and FORD ROSTER is his first winner.
