Stone Farm Raised Runners Earn Blacktype Two Days Apart.

On Aug. 25, 2-year-old TIPSY TALES won the Canadian Juvenile S. going six furlongs on the dirt at Century Mile in Canada  Two days later, 4-year-old MOUFFY (pictured left) won the Ellis Park Turf Stakes going 1 1/16 miles on the grass. The victories marked the first blacktype wins for the Stone Farm raised runners.

TIPSY TALES was bred by Stone Farm in partnership with Joseph Sutton, foaled and raised at the farm, and then offered as a yearling at the 2022 Keeneland September Sale. The son of The Factor out of Flask, by Maria’s Mon, brought a final bid of $5,000 from his owner Todd Kettleson.  The gelding made his racing debut in the Martin Deerline Juvenile finishing second and then won next time out by a determined half-length in the Canadian Juvenile Stakes. He now has one win and a second in his two starts to date.

MOUFFY was bred by and races for George Strawbridge Jr.’s Augustin Stable.  Foaled and raised at Stone Farm, MOUFFY is by Uncle Mo out of Truly Together by Smart Strike.  In the Ellis Park Turf Stakes, MOUFFY was third, a half-length back at the top of the stretch, made a bid at the sixteenth pole, then edged ahead for a win at the wire.  She has four wins and a second in her six starts to date.
