Stone Farm Bred & Sold GROWTH EQUITY Wins the G3 Peter Pan Stakes

Klaravich Stable’s GROWTH EQUITY was a heavy favorite in a Maiden Special Weight at Aqueduct in March and rolled home with impressive  4 1/4- victory.  Making the jump to stakes company last Saturday in the $200,000 Peter Pan S.-G3, the 3-year-old colt proved his connections were correction in their assessment by winning the 1 1/18-mile feature by a comfortable two lengths.  After tracking the leaders into the far turn, GROWTH EQUITY was asked to run as they neared the quarter pole, and he went wide to make his bid.  Under mild urging, he took the lead at the head of the stretch and then drew clear from his rivals for his first graded stakes win.

Bred and raised at Stone Farm, GROWTH EQUITY was purchased by Klaravich for $425,000 at the 2024 Stone Farm Keeneland September Sale consignment.  Trained by Chad Brown, the colt has two wins and two seconds in his four-start career. GROWTH EQUITY is by Nyquist and out of the Wildcat Heir mare My Dear Venezuela. She has produced three winners to date, including a Graded stakes-placed winner.

GROWTH EQUITY’s performance in the Peter Pan, sparked a couple of interesting columns. Chris McGrath examined the colt’s pedigree in the Thoroughbred Daily News, while Frank Mitchell discussed the significance of the Peter Pan as a precursor to success in the Belmont Stakes in The Paulick Report.
