Stone Farm: For half of a century.
If you take care of the land,
the land will take care of you.
We’re trying to raise you a good horse.
We sell only what we raise.
Jockey Corey Lanerie took top honors when he rode favorite Kitty Wine to victory in the Lady Canterbury Stakes.
Kitty Wine is trained by Eddie Kenneally and is owned by Stone Farm and Joseph Sutton. The 6-year-old mare chased pace setter Parc Monceau, passing her at the top of the stretch, and drawing off to win by 1¼ lengths over late-charging Notte d’Oro. Julie Darlin finished third. Final time for the 23rd edition of the one-mile race was 1:36.97. Kitty Wine returned $4.80 for a $2 win wager.
“She broke really good out of the gate,” Lanerie said. “When I turned for home, I knew she was the best horse. I rode her like she was the best horse.”
