In the 4th race at Arlington Park on May 27, Trend tracked the pace in behind and inside a rival but just off the fence, angled three wide in upper stretch for room with aim on the leader and under prolonged urging from jockey Jose Valdivia, Jr., he secured the lead in time, winning by a nose. The 9yo gelding – winner at 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and now 9- then went to the Winner’s Circle to have his photo taken with trainer Michael Stidham.
