Raised at Stone Farm for owner/breeder Aaron U. Jones, Ida Delia won or placed in 18 races. A four-time winner as a 3-year-old, Ida Delia won five times at four, including a victory in the Brentwood S. at Hollywood Park. Shipped to the east coast by trainer Laz Barrera, Ida Delia was runner-up in the Maskette H.-G2 to Pearl Necklace. She turned the tables on that filly in the Ladies H.-G1 going wire to wire to win the 1 1/4-mile test by 2 1/4 lengths. The following year, Ida Delia placed in both the Santa Margarita Invitational H.-G1 and Santa Maria H.-G2 in California to close out her career.
