Stone Farm: For half of a century.
If you take care of the land,
the land will take care of you.
We’re trying to raise you a good horse.
We sell only what we raise.
In her career debut, QUIETSIDE dazzled at Saratoga breaking away from the pack to win a six-furlong maiden special weight by an impressive 6 1/4-lengths on August 4. The performance earned the 2-year-old daughter of Malibu Moon the designation of “TDN Rising Star” and confirmed the hopes of owner/breeder John Ed Anthony and trainer John Alexander Ortiz.
Bred and raced in the name of Anthony’s Shortleaf Stable, QUIETSIDE is out of the Speightstown mare Benner Island, who was purchased as yearling and also raced for Shortleaf. She won the Eight Belles S.-G2 and placed in the Acorn S.-G1 before joining the broodmare ranks at Stone Farm, which is where QUIETSIDE was foaled and raised.
Here is J. N. Campbell’s write up on the race as featured in the Thoroughbred Daily News…
